Even though summer hasn’t *officially* started yet, I’m already noticing a distinct trend in my summer style: I can’t help but buy (and wear) dresses. Shorts have always been the mainstay of my summer wardrobe. That is, until I discovered comfortable T-shirt dresses while working from home during the pandemic, and my collection of trendy dresses has only grown since. She recently went up a dress, when I came across this easy-to-wear linen dress from J. Crew Factory, 39% off right now.

Although I’m always keen to check out new brands, I’ve found J. Crew Factory to be a consistent win for me. My most recent purchase, the linen-blend ruffled mini dress, is another successful purchase. This dress is made from a blend of linen and viscose, so it’s light and airy to put on. What’s more, it slips on just above the head and even has pockets. It comes in four colors (pink, white, marigold, and light blue), so I was able to choose the shade that best suited my color and style, and the size that best matched my petite frame. (It’s available in sizes 00-20 in regular and petite fits.)

And the icing on the cake? It is currently on sale for $59.50.

I was initially drawn to this dress because it’s made from linen, a quintessential summer fabric that’s getting even more of a following thanks to the “coastal granny” trend. I also thought the tiers, length, and flirty ruffled sleeves would add just the right amount of pizzazz without going over my petite frame (I’m 5ft 2in). After some tough decision making, I landed on the marigold flower pattern (I love wearing bright colors during the summer!) and found my correct size with the help of the “What size do I fit” feature? best suits” of the site.

Although I had hope from the moment I placed my order, I did not expect this dress to blow my mind. But it absolutely is. The flutter sleeves are as pretty as I imagined, the length hits a few inches above my knees, and the fit is what I can best describe as “comfy and loose.” I’m also completely sold on the linen blend fabric. It offers more structure than a cotton dress, so I feel confident wearing it from day to night, and the linen weight is worth all the hype.

Thanks to my new found love for dresses, my yellow J. Crew Factory ruffle sleeve dress is my new must-have for the season. It’s definitely worth the $59.50 price tag, especially when I think about the wear and tear it’s going to get this summer.
